In the operation of buildings and facilities, there is an increasing focus on energy efficiency and minimising energy costs. In many cases the existing Building Management System (BMS) is not yet designed with this approach in mind. Since then, this may have been influenced by changes in the price of energy sources and, in some cases, by changes in user needs and habits over the years.
As a result, in many cases, there is potential for energy savings, even without direct additional investment, simply by revising the BMS system and optimising its configuration parameters. Examples of suggested modifications include temperature baselines, CO₂ concentration baselines, air handler setting parameters, mechanical equipment operation, operation, individual time programmes.
Our company has provided professional support to our partners in a number of successful building management system optimisation projects for more energy efficient and cost effective operation.
